Valpaços is a small, peaceful town located midway between Chaves and Mirandela, in the heart of the rugged Trás-os-Montes region of northern Portugal.
Although the town is documented as far back as the 12th century, Valpaços was only granted its town charter by King Pedro V on 27 March, 1861. What to see. The town’s parish church located on the Praça da República features an interesting granite vault. In front of the church, the Casa do Arco (founded in the 15th century) is a magnificent residential property belonging to the aristocratic Pinto Leite family. Nearby.
