Lisbon’s most famous sights are best appreciated
from one of the many belvederes (miradouros in Portuguese)
dotted around town.
The miradouros are a network of esplanades and terraces
located at the highest points of the city, such
as the Castle of São Jorge, Monsanto Forest
and the Bairro Alto.
They all have places to sit down and rest while
most have bars serving snacks and light refreshments.
