JEWISH HERITAGE
The rich Jewish heritage of Portugal is widely accessible to visitors and the subject of a brochure produced by the Portuguese Tourist Board. Main attractions include a 14th century former synagogue in Tomar and some ancient Hebrew manuscripts in Évora. Jewish cemeteries can also be visited in the Algarve capital, Faro, and on the Azorian islands of Faial, Terceira and São Miguel.
