BANKS
Normal opening hours are from 8.30 am until 3 pm Monday to Friday. Banks are generally closed at weekends, although some branches in city centres, shopping malls and main tourist areas are open on Saturdays and stay open longer during the week.

BULLFIGHTING
The bullfighting season in Portugal lasts from April until October. The biggest difference between Portuguese and Spanish bullfighting is that in Portugal the bull is not killed in the ring. Instead, spectators are treated to display of fine horsemanship as the matador strives to immobilize and exhaust the bull into submission. The Ribatejo region north-east of Lisbon is the traditional centre of bullfighting, with events held from spring to autumn at Santarém, Vila Franca de Xira, Coruche and other towns throughout the region.
